Children’s marathon Little Hearts Marathon was organized by Shree Siddhivinayak Ganapati Trust from Siddhivinayak to Parel in Mumbai today at 7am.Thousands of school children under 15 years participated in the race with full vigor and enthusiasm. The parents must be credited for the huge participation of the children.
Today children are so engrossed on the T.V and mobile with no outdoor activities. So this kind of sports encourages children in outdoor activities said Dinesh Shigavan a parent whose son Ayush of 8years had participated in the race.
Among the spectators celebrities Aditya Thakre and Shryesh Tapalde were present to promote their new Marathi movie Bazi.
The maximum distance of the marathon was 7 kms. No casualties were reported. Almost every child completed the race. The public were very supportive and interested to cheer up the kids in the early morning race on a Sunday.
The message was clear to everyone that today’s children need physical exercise for better health. Schools need to introduce and encourage sports in school. Only classroom studies cannot make a child competent and healthy in today’s world.
