Aurangabad (Mah): The city crime branch on Monday seized foreign liquor worth about Rs 10 lakhs stocked allegedly for distribution during municipal poll campaigning here, police said.
Acting on a tip-off, police raided a godown of a bar in MIDC Waluj area in the wee hours today.
They seized the liquor stocked for being distributed during the campaigning for Aurangabad Municipal Corporation elections, scheduled to be held later this month, Deputy Commissioner of Police Sandeep Aatole said.
The owner of the bar, Rajendra Salampure, has been arrested and a case was registered against him, police Inspector Avinash Aghav said.
