Los Angeles: Indian-origin Hollywood actress Freida Pinto-starrer ‘Desert Dancer’ has unveiled its first trailer.
The trailer sees Pinto, 30, and her friends practicing choreographed dance moves in suppressed society and risking their lives, reported Ace Showbiz.
The movie centers on a real-life dancer Afshin Ghaffarian (played by Reece Ritchie). The video first shows him as a kid who gets punished at school for dancing in class. Afshin’s passion, however, does not die. He learns dancing from videos of Michael Jackson, Gene Kelly and Rudolf Nureyev, and later creates his own dance company alongside some friends, including Pinto’s Elaheh.
Directed by Richard Raymond, the movie kicks off the opening night of the Santa Barbara International Film Festival at the Arlington Theatre.
Also starring Nazanin Boniadi, Tom Cullen and Marmama Corlett, the film will open in select theatres in the US on April 10 before going wide on April 17.
Mumbai: The precap footage of Friday’s episode saw a priest entering the house of ‘Bigg Boss’. The contestants were seen asking the pandit to make predictions about their respective futures.

Los Angeles: Reality TV star Kim Kardashian has spoken out about her stepfather Bruce Jenner, saying he’s the “happiest he’s ever been.”
The two have stayed close since Bruce and Kardashians’ mother Kris Jenner split in 2013, and Kim says that he’ll always have her “support”, reports femalefirst.co.uk.
Speaking to ‘Entertainment Tonight’, she said: “I think Bruce is very happy, the happiest I’ve ever seen him… He’s our dad so we support him no matter what, and I think when the time is right, he’ll talk about whatever he wants to talk about. I guess I’ll kind of let everyone be curious and I feel like that’s his journey to talk about.”
Earlier, Kim and her sisters Khloe and Kourtney as well as half sisters Kendall and Kylie shared a picture of themselves with Bruce amid the speculation surrounding his personal life, but Kim insists it wasn’t a photo designed to make a statement.
“Well we support Bruce no matter what, so we were just at his house hanging out and we wanted to take a picture, that was not like a secret message like, ‘We support Bruce’. Of course we support Bruce 100 percent.”
Manasvi on a signing spree!
New Delhi, Jan. 27 — Actor Manasvi Mamgai may not have played the lead in her debut film, Action Jackson (2014), opposite Ajay Devgn, but she managed to impress the makers, so much so that they have now signed her for a two-film deal. The first of these will kick off mid-2015.
Interestingly, the upcoming film was supposed to be announced in December. But the actor explains, “Since my debut film didn’t do as well at the box office as it was expected to, the makers delayed the announcement. The first of the two movies will go on floors in May or June, and an official confirmation will be made soon.”
Currently, the script is being re-written to make it more realistic. “It was on the lines of a larger-than-life, commercial film. But, now we are making it more realistic as we realised that the trend of out-and-out mass entertainers is slowly fading, and people want to watch more realistic movies,” she adds.
The casting process is not yet complete, and the actor is unsure if this film, too, will co-star Ajay. “It is too early to comment about the cast. I can only say that the makers have signed the deal with me as they liked my performance in my debut film,” says Manasvi.

I will do only dignified roles: Esha Deol
New Delhi, Jan. 25 — Actor Esha Deol, who married businessman Bharat Takhtani in 2012, says that she will be very choosey about the projects she takes up because she represents two families now.
“I am married now and I represent two very dignified families. So, obviously, my roles will also have to be dignified,” says the 33-yearold, who was last seen in the 2011 film Tell Me O Kkhuda. “I am open to working in films as well and if an appropriate opportunity comes, I will take it up,” she adds.
The actor is currently judging an adventure-based reality show on a youth channel, and says that she is thoroughly enjoying herself. “It is a great feeling that although I have been married for two years, they considered me for this,” says the actor, who admits to being an adventure junkie herself. “I enjoy adventure and Bharat and I often go for such trips. We especially enjoy taking road trips together,” she says.
While she consults her husband and her in-laws when it comes to career decisions, she says that the last word is always hers. “My in-laws are fine with the work I do. They leave all these decisions up to me. They trust me,” says Esha.
The actor also started her own production house last year, and is looking forward to taking on more projects. “I have started a production house and I am really looking forward to the projects that are in the pipeline,” says Esha.

New Delhi, Jan. 26 — Actor Sonakshi Sinha has not only become a household name when it comes to films, but has also been constantly rising in the fashion world. The Dabangg actor gives equal importance to fashion photoshoots as she does to her film shoots and promotions.
“Sonakshi recently shot a series of pictures with international photographer Maul Gohel. She especially took out time for it. The shoot turned out very well and Sonakshi had a lot of fun,” says a source.
The 27-year-old also makes it a point to include her personal styling in her films. “I generally try to add something from my side to all my looks. In one of my songs from the film Action Jackson, I felt that wearing my leather jacket and sunglasses would make it look better,” says Sonakshi.
