Mumbai, Jan. 16 — Last year, House Of Cards star (and two time Oscar winner) Kevin Spacey put on his dancing shoes at an awards function (in Tampa Bay) when he shook a leg to the tunes of ‘Lungi dance’, alongside Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor.
Now, we have come to know that Hollywood actor Richard Gere also seems to be interested in learning Bollywood dance moves. Apparently, for his upcoming movie, The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, the Pretty Woman (1990) star has danced to the tunes of ‘ Jhoom barabar jhoom’ from the Abhishek Bachchan-Preity Zinta-starrer movie by the same name that released in 2007.
“Richard will be seen dancing during a wedding sequence in the film, which involves almost the entire star cast. It’s going to be a colourful song-and-dance number taking place at a wedding that we usually see in Indian movies,” says an insider. The sequel to the 2012 hit, which has been shot in Rajasthan, also stars Judi Dench, Maggie Smith, Bill Nighy and David Strathairn, among others.
Besides Spacey and Gere, the Face/Off (1997) star John Travolta, who is famous for his moves, also put on his dancing shoes at the awards function last year with Hrithik Roshan to showcase his signature Saturday Night Fever (1977) steps.
Mumbai, Feb. 2 — If the trailer of Roy has already left you curious, then here’s some more good news. The much anticipated film is packed with a lot of surprises. It is for the first time that actor Jacqueline Fernandez will be seen in a double role.
Her characters appear alongside Arjun Rampal and Ranbir Kapoor. And the bonding between the actors that we see in the trailer is just a small glimpse. A source close to the film’s unit tells us that the cast got along like a house on fire, and there was never a dull moment when Arjun, Ranbir, producer Bhushan Kumar and the film’s director Vikramjit Singh alias Vicky were around.
“Ranbir and Vicky know each other for many years, so for them, it was like friends working together. Arjun and Ranbir, who’ve earlier worked together in Raajneeti (2010), played a lot of pranks on the other unit members and even Jacqueline. They would even help each other with their dialogues and scenes,” says the source, adding, “Bhushan sir, Arjun and Vicky, on the other hand, got along from the very first day. In fact, they bonded as if they have known each other for years. When they’d be around, everyone on the sets had to be careful to not fall for anything, as they would keep pulling someone or the others’ leg.” Well, looks like, bromance is in the air.
Produced by Divya Khosla Kumar, Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar, and directed by Vikramjit Singh, Roy is scheduled to release on February 13, 2015.
Anushka Sharma’s look from Anurag Kashyap’s BOMBAY VELVET has been finally revealed!
The very first impression of this look is a very dark yet gracious character that Anushka might portray. She is going to be playing the character of Rosie, a prized singer of the Bombay Velvet Club.
It was only some time before that we met the angry young man Johnny Balraj played by (Anushka’s love interest) Ranbir Kapoor in the film.
Well, we must say that the combination of a gracious Anushka Sharma and an angry Ranbir Kapoor makes one excited to watch BOMBAY VELVET, especially when these two meet and fall in love!
BOMBAY VELVET that is set to release on May 15, is a romantic thriller set in the 60’s. Rosie is Johnny’s soul-mate, a love that blossoms in the underbelly of the city that was set to become the Manhattan of India.
It was one of the rare occasions where Salman Khan and Ranbir Kapoor came together, after the latter started dating Salman’s former girlfriend Katrina Kaif. And the occasion that got the two on same platform was Filmfare Awards that was held at Yash Raj Studios.
No matter with the personal issues, it was a fun watch as both Ranbir and Salman were equally entertaining throughout the night.
Reportedly, Ranbir Kapoor was seated on the first row throughout and was seen chatting away with Shahid Kapoor and Varun Dhawan. Seated next to the veteran actress Rekha, the trio was seen cheering for this evergreen actress.
Also, Ranbir Kapoor’s ex flame Deepika Padukone was a hot favourite of Salman Khan at the award function. As Salman danced to the tunes of his KICK song ‘Jumme Ki Raat’, grabbing Deepika’s dress by his mouth. Salman was also accompanied by Karan Johar, Kapil Sharma and Sidharth Malhotra in the act. Also, Salman and Deepika shared an ‘aww’ moment on stage as they show their brightest smiles.
Ranbir, on the other hand, danced to the tunes of ‘Balam Pichkari’ from Karan Johar’s movie YEH JAWAANI HAI DEEWANI, which was also picturised with Deepika Padukone.
However, Salman’s ex and Ranbir Kapoor’s current sweetheart – Katrina Kaif was conspicuous from her absence! We wonder what the reason would be..

New Delhi: Actress Sapna Pabbi, who is making her Bollywood debut with Vishesh Films’ ‘Khamoshiyan’, says intimate scenes in the film were not difficult for her to pull off, and instead, it was the emotional scenes which were challenging.
The supernatural erotica, which has abundant steamy and bold scenes, features Sapna in a lead role as a conniving seductress Meera, and Ali Fazal as Kabir, a writer in search of a story. Gurmeet Choudhary plays Meera’s husband Jaidev in the film.
“Intimate scenes were not difficult. The difficult scenes for me in the film were the heavy emotional ones,” Sapna said.
“There were times when I cried all day on set. I couldn’t stop crying, it was a very emotionally heavy scene I had done with Gurmeet one day. It was really difficult for me to snap out of Meera’s character,” she added.
Sapna, who is known for her role as Kiran Rathod in espionage drama TV series ‘24’, finds her journey from TV to Bollywood “unreal”.
“It was because of ’24’ that I got ‘Khamoshiyan’ and a lot of other things also. It was four months after ’24’ that I signed my first film. It’s been unreal. I’ve got great friends in Mumbai. I couldn’t have asked for a better journey,” said the 24-year-old Bollywood debutante.
Speaking about her attachment with the film, which released Friday, she said: “’Khamoshiyan’ is close to my heart. I’m very overwhelmed and the film has been a great gift to me.”
Her dark and mysterious character in the film has a lot of secrets and is “very complex”.
“Meera is a very complex character. She has a lot of different layers and shades to her personality. She carries a lot of dark secrets from her past. She likes to play mind games and she is very dark and mysterious,” she said.
Asked if she would still want to work for TV, having already made a Bollywood breakthrough, she said she wouldn’t mind and would be happy to “break the barrier” between Bollywood and TV.
“In Hollywood, everybody acts in films and then they act for TV, so I feel somebody has to break that barrier in Bollywood.
“Acting is acting, no matter where you do it, whatever the medium may be. I hope Bollywood and the Indian TV industry break that ice. It’d be nice to see more filmy faces on TV,” she said.
Sapna also expressed her fascination of veteran actress Rekha and her talent.
“The roles with more depth attract me. I’m in love with roles that Rekha ma’am has pulled off in the past. ‘Khoon Bhari Maang’ is my favourite film and Rekha ma’am is my favourite actress.
“The great thing about her is that she used to stand out in the scenes all the time and she still does. I’d love to do roles that have more personality to them rather than the look on screen,” she said.
Although she is a “huge fan” of superstar Shah Rukh Khan, Sapna also appreciates Manoj Bajpayee’s work.
“I’m a huge Shah Rukh Khan fan. I’ve watched his films more than anybody else’s. And, I’m a huge fan of Manoj Bajpayee too,” she said.

Naomi Campbell has revealed that if she had to choose, she’d be a supermodel all over again rather than one of the industry’s new “Instagirls”.
The new generation of models – including Cara Delevingne, Karlie Kloss, Jourdan Dunn, Joan Smalls, Gigi Hadid and Kendall Jenner – have carved their careers in a new way, securing campaigns thanks, at least in part, to their massive social-media followings. But Campbell is glad she did things the old-fashioned way.
“It’s amazing,” Campbell told The Meredith Viera Show. “I mean, good luck to them. I just feel my generation of women, like Cindy Crawford, Linda Evangelista, Christy Turlington, Claudia (Schiffer), we had to earn our stripes and take our stepping stones to get to where we have gotten; to accomplish what we have achieved to this date. I kind of feel like, ‘My God, we’ve worked so hard and we are still working at it – then it just comes like that for them.’ But I sometimes believe easy come, easy go. So I am actually grateful for the way I had my career. I wouldn’t want it any other way. So that’s for them, this is me.”
The Screen Actors Guild Awards are like the Gettysburg Address of award shows—they’re a show of the actors, by the actors, for the actors.
So unless Jennifer Lawrence‘s dress looks like it’s ripping, that often doesn’t make for the most scintillating of entertainments for the non-voters watching at home.
But there were a handful of moments surrounding the 21st Annual SAG Awards last night that got our engines revved, for varying reasons. Here’s what stood out among yet more wins for Downton Abbey and Julianne Moore:
Birdman Out-Soars Boyhood: We have ourselves a real, honest-to-good Best Picture Oscar race now. Boyhood won the Golden Globe for Best Motion Picture, Drama, often a clue of things to come on Oscar night; but combined with Saturday’s big win at the Producers Guild of America Awards, Birdman‘s upset win for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Motion Picture at the SAGs gives the Alejandro González Iñárritu film all the momentum heading into the Academy Awards on Feb. 22. Minus, of course, the outcome of the DGA Awards on Feb. 7, though last year’s winner (Alfonso Cuarón) didn’t direct the ultimate Best Picture Oscar winner (12 Years a Slave). Hey, with Patricia Arquette, J.K. Simmons and Julianne Moore pretty much all locks, we’ll take the suspense where we can get it.
2. Emma Stone’s Face Says It All: If Naomi Watts hadn’t almost face-planted by tripping over Emma’s skirt during the Birdman cast’s group acceptance speech, the show would not have ended on such a literal high note.
3. An Even More Modern Family: The Modern Family reign is over. First-time ensemble nominee Orange Is the New Black toppled the previously unbeatable ABC sitcom in the Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a TV Comedy, ending the Fam‘s four-year winning streak. Uzo Aduba added to the evening’s Netflix tallyy (House of Cards star Kevin Spacey was also a winner, but surprisingly was not there to chew his share of the scenery), topping the likes of Edie Falco and Julia Louis-Dreyfus for the Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series, er, Actor. The statues are called Actors, remember?
4. Postcard From the Edge: Oh, these two. Even for those too young to really know about the history of animosity, rivalry, begrudging admiration and presumably fiercely protective love between Debbie Reynolds and daughter Carrie Fisher, the history of…something…was palpable. “Actually, she has been more than a mother to me,” Fisher started the roast, er, tribute. “Not much, but definitely more.” And the 82-year-old Reynolds zinged right back. Referencing the “big ugly bun” she wore in Singin’ in the Rain, she recalled an anecdote in which she told her daughter, who had just been cast in Star Wars at the time, to “‘be careful of any weird hairdos.’ So luckily George [Lucas] gave her two buns.”
5. She Said Shoes!: Sorry, other outlets who immediately speculated that Keira Knightley let slip the sex of her unborn child by telling E!’s Maria Menounoson Live From the Red Carpet that “she’s sitting high.” As in the stereotype that female babies ride higher on a woman’s body while in the womb. Alas, that’s not what Keira said. What the expectant Imitation Game star actually told Maria was “The shoes are quite high, they might come off later,” in reference to her footwear.
