Actor Tanushree Dutta has alleged she is being targeted and harassed by “Bollywood mafia and the old political circuit of Maharashtra” for taking a stand against injustice.
In 2018, Dutta triggered India’s #MeToo Movement by reviving a decade-old case of alleged harassment against actor Nana Patekar.
“The Bollywood Mafia, the old political circuit of Maharashtra (which still has influence here) and nefarious anti – national criminal elements together usually operate like this to trouble people (sic),” the former Miss India wrote in a lengthy Instagram post on Tuesday.
From her films being sabotaged to attempts on her life, the 38-year-old alleged she was being targeted in a systematic manner.
“The #metoo culprits & the NGO who I exposed” were responsible for her troubles, she said, without taking any names.
“I’m very sure the #metoo culprits & the NGO who I exposed are behind all this because why else would I be targeted & harassed like this??
“Shame on you all…. It’s severe mental, physical & psychological harassment. What kind of place is this where young boys and girls can just be harassed and killed for standing against injustice? (sic)” she added.
Known for films such as “Aashiq Banaya Aapne” and “Chocolate”, Dutta said those who were trying to pull her down won’t succeed.
“I’m not going to commit suicide for sure yeh kaan kholkar sun lo sab log!! Nor am I leaving & going anywhere. I’m here to stay & resurrect my public career to greater heights than ever before!”
The actor also said people would now try to “dismiss” her claims but she has been posting updates about her life for a long time.
Dutta said she would now focus on her well-being, new business and work opportunities.

Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi on Tuesday embarked on a visit to China to attend a regional meeting on war-torn Afghanistan.
The third meeting of ‘Foreign Ministers of Neighbouring Countries of Afghanistan’ is being held on March 29 to 31, according to the Pakistan Foreign Office (FO). The meeting will be held in Tunxi, central China’s Anhui province.
“Besides attending the Neighbouring Countries Ministerial meeting, the Foreign Minister will interact with counterparts from participating countries,” said the FO.
Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi is expected to host a dialogue between the foreign ministers and the acting Foreign Minister of Afghanistan’s interim government, Amir Khan Muttaqi, on the sidelines of the meeting.

The Taliban regime in Afghanistan has not been recognised by the international community amidst severe economic and humanitarian problems faced by the country.
Pakistan hosted the first meeting on September 8, 2021.
The FO said Pakistan fully supports a regional approach on Afghanistan for promoting durable peace and stability in the region.
Pakistan will continue to support the international community’s efforts to advance the shared objectives of a peaceful, stable, sovereign, prosperous and connected Afghanistan, said the FO.
Qureshi has been invited by State Councilor and Foreign Minister of China Wang.

Actor Yami Gautam, who tied the knot with filmmaker Aditya Dhar in an intimate wedding ceremony in June, says even if there were no restrictions due to the coronavirus pandemic the couple would have opted for a low-key affair.
Gautam, 32, and Dhar got married in Mandi, Himachal Pradesh in the presence of 20 guests. Dhar, 38, had directed Gautam in the 2019 blockbuster “Uri – The Surgical Strike”.
Their wedding announcement — posted on Instagram by the couple — came as a surprise for many. But Gautam said keeping the most special day of their life private was ideal for them.
“It was as simple as possible. Aditya and I are simple people and we like to keep it like that. We are private and reserved and only wanted to share it with the world when the time was right. Even if there was no pandemic, I assure you it would have been the same wedding. Nothing would have been different,” Gautam told PTI.
For the wedding, the “Bala” actor wore her mother’s sari, a nose ring and dupatta given by her grandmother. Gautam did her own make-up and had her sister, Surilie, do her hair.
She said the couple didn’t feel any obligation for “pomp and show” and hence were comfortable with a traditional and intimate ceremony.
“It is just about those moments, you don’t have to prove anything to anyone. It’s your day, your family and it’s best when you can celebrate it without making it an obligation. Both of us don’t believe in pomp and show. To each his own, it’s your big day, whatever makes you happy.
“But we don’t like wastage of food, and never wanted a DJ wedding. We are both traditional, we did our rituals which we loved. We played traditional Pahadi and Kashmiri songs, Punjabi folk tracks… There were just 20 people but it was really memorable,” the actor added.
Gautam is currently gearing up for her latest adventure-horror-comedy “Bhoot Police”, scheduled to be released on the streaming platform Disney+ Hotstar VIP on September 17.
Directed by Pavan Kirpalani, the film features actors Saif Ali Khan, Arjun Kapoor and Jacqueline Fernandez.

The Bollywood star urged his fans to follow COVID-19 protocols in order to remain safe amid the pandemic.
“I just hope everyone is happy, healthy and safe and are wearing masks. Keep washing your hands and maintain social distancing so that everybody remains safe,” he said.

Actor Elisabeth Moss will portray former US Congresswoman Katie Hill in an upcoming movie from Blumhouse TV.
According to Variety, the movie is an official adaptation of Hill’s memoir “She Will Rise: Becoming a Warrior in the Battle for True Equality”.
Blumhouse TV optioned the book, which was released in August, and will produce alongside Michael Seitzman and his banner Maniac Productions, and Moss’s production company Love & Squalor Pictures.
Michael Seitzman, who wrote the feature film “North Country”, will pen the screenplay for the project.
The book follows Hill as a young woman with no prior political experience whose charm and common sense won over the people in her district and thrust her into the halls of power in Washington.

Moss said she is honoured to play Hill in the movie and help in telling her story to the world.
“Her strength and work to amplify women’s voices is incredibly inspiring to me and her experiences could not be more important for us to magnify right now. As always, Jason and the Blumhouse team are such incredible partners and Lindsey and I are thrilled to make something powerful with them and Michael,” she added.
