New Delhi: A controversial BBC documentary featuring one of the December 16, 2012 gang-rape convicts has been uploaded on video sharing website YouTube by an individual.
However, the BBC site says “BBC iPlayer TV programmes are available to play in the UK only”.
The Home Ministry on Wednesday said orders were obtained from court to restrain the broadcast of the documentary.
The documentary “India’s daughter” by British film-maker Leslee Udwin has kicked up a storm over the interview of one of the six men who raped the 23-year-old trainee physiotherapist on December 16, 2012 on board a moving bus in Delhi. She later died in a Singapore hospital where she had been airlifted for specialised treatment.

Rihanna and Leo DiCaprio should be a perfect match — neither’s into settling down with one person for too long — but now that they’re banging … one of them is way more committed than the other.
We got pics of RiRi and Leo getting cozy recently at her birthday party — which he helped organize — and sources at the bash tell us one thing was clear … Rihanna’s the clingy one.
We’re told Leo is affectionate enough — they engaged in plenty of PDA — but he could barely get a moment to himself. As one source put it, “she’s the baddest bitch in the party, but she’s following him everywhere.”
We’re told they’ve been hooking up for about 3 months, but it’s still not exclusive — more like they’re each other’s first choice. Not that anyone’s crying for either of them.

While it’s a known fact that Sunny Leone has been roped in to perform on stage at an event in Hyderabad on New Year’s Eve, the latest news is that even Poonam Pandey will be seen shaking her leg on stage at a different venue in the city. Apparently, the actress was roped in at the last moment and since she’ll be shooting a song in the city for her upcoming Telugu film, Malini & Co, she was more than happy to be part of the event.
“Poonam Pandey will be grooving on stage and she’ll select one lucky member from the audience, who will get a chance to dance with her in a song in Malini & Co. She’s very excited to perform in Hyderabad,” a source close to the actress said.
With both Poonam Pandey and Sunny Leone gearing up to dazzle the partygoers in Hyderabad, it remains to be seen which of the two events makes the maximum splash on December 31.
When Bollywood divas dress up for a star-studded reception party…
T-Series chief Bhushan Kumar threw a lavish wedding reception for his sister Tulsi Kumar in Mumbai, and several Bollywood divas turn up in their finest ethnic wear. The wedding, incidentally, was held in New Delhi last month.
ajpayee that you are used to seeing.
He’s not sly, cunning, or evil. No, he doesn’t play his typical Bollywood villain role (which he rocks at, by the way). Instead, he’s playing a role of a gay professor!
The first look of the film is out, and is as interesting as it sounds! Bajpayee has been given an old, worn out look, as he sits on a chair with his handbag drawn close to him. It’s a beautiful display of emotion.
The film is slated to release in September. All fingers crossed for Manoj’s new avatar!
Two games into their title defence, the Indian team has sent out a strong signal of their intentions to opposing teams vying to dethrone them. The surgical precision with which Indiadispatched Pakistan and South Africa suggests they are in no mood to relinquish their crown without giving it a real go.
After registering their 6th win over archrivals Pakistan at ICC’s flagship event, India ended their World Cup drought against Proteas by condemning them to a 130-run defeat. What fans witnessed at the MCG was a near-perfect cricket match from India as they outplayed the South African’s in all departments.
India – as the defending champions and brimming with confidence – march ahead in a bid to successfully stamp their authority on the tournament. Here are three talking points from India’s demolition job of South Africa in Melbourne.
Resurgence of Shikhar Dhawan
Shikhar Dhawan’s inclusion in India’s 15-man World Cup squad was never in doubt, especially since he along with Rohit Sharma was identified by the captain and management as India’s preferred opening combination.
Yet, the left-hander’s selection didn’t inspire much confidence since he had a torrid time with the bat on recent tours. However, the 29-year-old has responded to scathing criticism in the most exceptional manner. Having missed out on a century against Pakistan, ‘Gabbar’ appeared hungry for a three-figure score against the South Africans.
This World Cup has witnessed a different side of Dhawan for he has tried to build his innings playing with solidity and swagger. The southpaw’s form at the top is crucial to India’s hopes at the tournament. Dhawan’s game hinges a lot on confidence, which he now seems to have got back. This has been the biggest plus for India early on in the tournament.
Intensity of the Indian bowling attack
Bowling was supposed to be India’s weak link coming into the tournament. Evidence from the first two games suggests India’s bowlers have risen to the occasion. The bowling unit of Umesh Yadav, Mohammad Shami, Ravichandran Ashwin, Mohit Sharma and Ravindra Jadeja was forced upon the captain with injuries to Ishant Sharma and Bhuvneshwar Kumar. This makes their performance even more remarkable.
After easily dismissing Pakistan in the first match, Indian bowlers put on a clinical display against South Africa. Mohit Sharma’s inclusion in the team may have been fortuitous, but he has made a difference to India’s bowling. Against the Proteas, Yadav and Shami’s fastest deliveries were clocked at 147.0 and 143.7 km/hr. Their rhythm and consistent pace with the new ball has added a new dimension to the attack.
However, Ashwin has been India’s standout performer in the first two games and could be a trump card going forward. The bowling intensity of India has probably taken experts and even opposition camps by surprise.
Another failure of lower middle-order
It must be a matter of great relief to Indian fans that the team has finally put up big runs on the board after their failure to do so in the recently concluded tri-series against Australia and England. With a bowling attack that is not on par with the best in the world, it was imperative that India’s batsmen started the tournament with a bang.
Though there have been plenty of positives with regard to India’s batting, certain problems continue to persist. A glaring weakness of this famed batting line-up has been their inability to consolidate on solid foundations provided by the top order. Despite cruising through majority of the game, the final flourish as the innings tails continues to elude the defending champions. India have been restricted to 300 and 307 runs in their first two games when it looked certain they would post a score in access of 320. MS Dhoni has to shoulder part of the blame for this problem, which could cost his team dear in the knockout games.
Another key aspect to India’s strong show so far has been their fielding, especially outfielding. The fielders have complemented the bowlers, thereby adding pressure on the opposition. Inspired moments in the field help change the course of a match as Mohit Sharma’s run out of AB de Villiers showed against South Africa.
After a flawless display, one has to compliment the dedicated Indian fans for turning up in such large numbers at the Melbourne Cricket Ground to support the team. The official attendance at the MCG for India’s game against South Africa was 86876, which even bettered the 84336-strong crowd for Australia’s opener against England.
New Delhi: The resignation of Arvind Kejriwal from the post of AAP’s National Convener, which “still stands”, will be discussed at today’s National Executive meet where the party will take a call on the fate of senior leaders Yogendra Yadav and Prashant Bhushan.
The party dismissed reports of a fresh move by Kejriwal to quit ahead of today’s meet, saying he had not taken back the resignation he had tendered during the national executive meeting last week.
“Arvind has not tendered a fresh resignation. In the last National Executive meet, he had quit, but it was vehemently opposed to by all the members.
“After the end of the meeting, a few members also visited Kejriwal’s residence late in the night to convince him to take back the resignation. However, he had not taken it back, so his resignation stands,” said a senior party leader.
In a letter to the National Executive on February 26, Kejriwal had offered to resign, saying he was “overburdened” and “too busy” with his work in Delhi, where he leads the AAP government after the party swept to power in the recent Assembly elections.
He wrote that he would not be able to efficiently handle the responsibilities of being both the Chief Minister and the party’s national convener.

Patna: After a gap of one year, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Monday resumed his public interaction programme which aims at solving people’s problem on the spot.
After re-assuming the chair of chief minister on February 22, Kumar held his first “Janata Ke Darbar mein Mukhya Mantri” programme today.
Though the venue was same at One Anne Marg, but Kumar’s public interaction programme pruned the huge security arrangements which were in place in the days of his predecessor Jitan Ram Manjhi after a shoe hurling incident during one such event.
The visitors were spared from removing their shoes and socks for security checks at the entrance of the venue. Two additional tables in front of the chief minister, which were added during Manjhi’s time, were also removed and Kumar had only one table before him.
“I had started this programme nine years back. Its good to be back to job once again,” Kumar told reporters after completing the interaction with people.
He said he would study the details of the programme during last nine years and take corrective steps.
Though he is yet to move to One Anne Marg, the bungalow designed for the Chief Minister, as Manjhi is still putting up there, Kumar conducted the interaction programme inside the bungalow which he had earmarked for office purposes earlier.
Kumar later offered flowers at a sapling of Bodhi tree at the venue which he had earlier got planted by Tibetan spiritual leader the Dalai Lama.
He sat in the office at One Anne Marg for some time and then left for his present address on 7 Circular Road. Manjhi was in his house but there was interaction between the two.
Earlier, during the press conference Kumar avoided answering questions related to his predecessor and urged mediapersons to “indulge in highlighting positive developments of the state in place of juicy news which they used to get earlier (during Manjhi time)”.
When asked about the comment of RJD Vice-President Raghubansh Prasad Singh that Jitan Ram Manjhi should be brought back as Deputy Chief Minister, Kumar did not give much credence to the view by saying “something is said for getting published in newspapers”.

Mumbai: Hitting out at AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi for demanding reservation for Muslims in Maharashtra, Shiv Sena Tuesday said that if the minority leader wants his demands to be met on religious grounds, then he should go to Pakistan and try his antics there.
Terming Owaisi’s speeches “hateful”, the Sena said that the Devendra Fadnavis government should file a case against him and start legal proceedings.
“(Asaduddin) Owaisi is insisting that Muslims should get reservation akin to the Marathas. Such insistence had caused the separation of Pakistan from India. Hatred for Hindus compelled a section of Muslims to take control over Pakistan. Hence Owaisi may try and get his demands based on religious grounds fulfilled in Pakistan,” said an edit piece in the Sena mouthpiece, ‘Saamana’.
It added that the minority community will have to respect India as their motherland.
“They (minority community) will have to respect the Uniform Civil Code and stop demanding the continuation of Article 370 for Kashmir. Asking for reservations while continuing with religious rants will not work,” it said.
“Owaisi says ‘Muslims have suffered a lot and hence I speak up for them’. But will he give a count of the sufferings of Hindus due to the terrorist activities of extremist Muslims? If extremists start communal violence and terrorist activities after listening to his speeches… Owaisi’s speeches should be termed as hateful and action should be taken against him,” the Sena said.
Addressing a public gathering in Nagpur on Saturday night, Owaisi, the 45-year-old Lok Sabha MP from Hyderabad, had demanded reservation for backward Muslims in government jobs and educational institutes in Maharashtra.
Claiming that “injustice” has been done to Muslims in Maharashtra, Owaisi had blamed the more than 50 years of Congress rule at the Centre and the Congress-NCP and Shiv Sena -BJP governments in the state for the prevailing backwardness of minority community members.

Mumbai: The family of the slain communist leader and social activist Govind Pansare on Tuesday sought to intervene in a public interest litigation filed in the Bombay High Court which has sought a CBI probe into his murder.
Pansare was shot dead near his house in Kolhapur on February 16 by unidentified men.
Social activist Ketan Tirodkar has filed the PIL, seeking transfer of the probe to CBI.
Pansare’s daughter Smita and daughter-in-law Megha Pansare filed an application seeking permission to intervene in the PIL.
Their lawyer, Sandesh Shukla, mentioned the application before the division bench headed by Justice P V Hardas, which posted it for hearing along with the PIL tomorrow.
“Instead of CBI inquiry, the family wants a special investigation team to be formed and the court to monitor the probe. Earlier, the High Court had transferred the probe into the murder of activist Narendra Dabholkar to CBI but to date there has been no break-through. Same goes for the probe into murder of RTI activist Satish Shetty,” Shukla said.
