Los Angeles: Boy band One Direction has released a new song titled ‘History’, as a dedication to its fans, ahead of its fifth album ‘Made in the AM’ on November 13 followed by the group’s announced hiatus.
The hand-clapping, sing-along song is about all the band has been through and accomplished alongside the One Direction fans for the past five years, reported Aceshowbiz. The lyrics include, “You and me, we got a whole lot of history/ We could be the greatest thing the world has ever seen/ This is not the end/ We can make it, you know it, you know.” One Direction also shared a video of Niall Horan and Louis Tomlinson talking about the new track. Harry Styles wrote on Twitter, “You’ve got to help me, I’m losing my mind,” along with a link to “History”. Horan, meanwhile, tweeted, “Loving the trend again today.. Love how u are responding to history.. It’s one our favourite songs we’ve ever done.. So this makes me happy. Loving the trend again today.. Love how u are responding to history.. It’s one our favourite songs we’ve ever done.. So this makes me happy.” Liam Payne described ‘History’ as a ‘modern version’ of “You’ve Got a Friend in Me”. “More than anything, the song is about the way the fans and everyone have created this massive thing – One Direction – over the past five years,” he shared, “Out of (‘History’) comes a little bit of closure for this chapter of One Direction.” He said bringing fans to the recording studio for the chorus of ‘History’ was actually his idea, but he wasn’t able to go himself. “That was actually my idea. It’s really great because obviously that song is mainly about the fans and what they’ve done. I think it was important that they were a part of it, to close the album.”

Countering the protests by writers and artistes against “rising intolerance”, Bollywood actor Anupam Kher today led a march to Rashtrapati Bhavan alleging that the “award-wapsi” campaign was to defame the country by projecting a “wrong” picture of the situation.
“India is a very tolerant country. Some people have coined the term ‘growing intolerance’. They are very few. Not every Indian thinks like that. We are secular people. We do not believe in pseudo-secularism, selective outrage or selective patriotism,” Kher, who is the spouse of BJP MP from Chandigarh Kirron Kher, told reporters.
“We had a meeting with a lot of writers, artistes, filmmakers and they also believe that there is no intolerance in the country… This march is a symbolic gesture on part of a lot of people over here who say India is one and free of intolerance,” the 60-year-old said.
Many filmmakers and artistes from the fraternity including Madhur Bhandarkar, Ashoke Pandit, Priyadarshan, Manoj Joshi, Abhijeet Bhattacharya and writer Madhu Kishwar joined the march to hand over a memorandum signed by more than 40 personalities including actress Raveena Tandon.
Bhandarkar, a National Award winner, alleged that those involved in the protest over intolerance had opposed Prime Minister Narendra Modi before he was elected, which raised questions about their intention.
“The projection that is happening for the past few days is very sad. The people who were against Modiji during elections are the same people who are coming out right now.
“The whole projection and narrative that is going abroad is wrong. It is a diverse country and of course there are incidents but we all condemn them. There is no two ways about it,” he said.
Kher asserted that they were not associated with any organisation or political party. “This march is led by Indians and for Indians.”
Film-maker Priyadarshan said the act of returning the awards is “childish”.
“People returning awards are doing a childish act. They should use the power of pen. Instances of intolerance have always been there. It is not something that happened yesterday. Shah Rukh Khan never said he is returning award,” Priyadarshan told PTI.
“They are respected people but behaving like school children,” Priyadarshan said.
He, however, disapproved of those critical of Khan who had said that there was extreme intolerance in the country.
At least 75 members of the intelligentsia have returned national or literary awards in an escalation of protests by writers, historians, filmmakers and scientists over “growing intolerance”, voicing fears that the country’s robust democracy might be “coming apart” in the current atmosphere.
The BJP-led government has dismissed the protest as “manufactured rebellion” and “politically” motivated.
Anupam Kher, while leading his ‘March for India’ campaign said that India is a “tolerant country” and nobody has the right to call it .

Chevrolet Enjoy has recently recalled its much hyped Enjoy car from the market. It is also learnt that a case in Bandra Consumer Court Forum has been filed by a consumer and an advocate Shri. Feroz Shaikh, who had purchased it from JMD motors. JMD and Chevrolet failed to provide any service to the Complainant despite the vehicle being under warranty. The Consumer Forum has taken strict view of the deficiency and unfair trade practices promoted by the car giant, Chevrolet.
Chevrolet has provided defective engine, gear box, and air-conditioner in it’s ENJOY vehicle, which appears to have been gathering negative consumer feedback. ARAI has provided Chevrolet certificate to carry on business in India, despite Enjoy being rejected in other countries. Enjoy is a sub standard, cheap brand with no near match for Innova.
So like it or not, the “Enjoy” is a Chinese vehicle trying to make it into India under an American coat. It was designed by a Chinese company (Wuling).
Saudi Arabia’s King Salman has vowed to find the cause of a massive crane collapse that killed 107 people at Mecca’s Grand Mosque.
The construction crane crashed during a vicious thunderstorm as worshippers gathered for weekly Friday prayers just days before the annual Muslim Hajj pilgrimage.
“We will investigate all the reasons and afterwards declare the results to the citizens,” King Salman said after visiting the site, one of Islam’s holiest.
The official Saudi Press Agency said King Salman “discussed the causes of the accident and its effects on the holy mosque” after he saw where the massive crane came down
It was one of several cranes working on an expansion of the sprawling mosque.
King Salman also expressed his condolences to the families of the dead, and visited a local hospital “to check on the health of the injured who are from several nationalities including Iranian, Turkish, Afghan, Egyptian and Pakistani”, the SPA said.
Pictures of the incident on Twitter showed bloodied bodies strewn across a courtyard where the top part of the crane, which appeared to have bent or snapped, had crashed into the building that was several storeys high.
A video on YouTube showed people screaming and rushing around right after a massive crash was heard and as fog engulfed the city.
Earlier, an official from the Saudi Civil Defence Authority said stormy weather was responsible for toppling the crane.
For years, work has been underway on a 400,000-square-metre expansion of the Grand Mosque to allow it to accommodate up to 2.2 million people at once.
Abdel Aziz Naqoor, who said he works at the mosque, said the casualty toll would have been higher had a covered walkway which surrounds the holy Kaaba not broken the crane’s fall.
The Kaaba is the huge cube-shaped structure at the centre of the mosque towards which Muslims worldwide pray.
Om Salma, a Moroccan pilgrim, said “our phones have not stopped ringing since yesterday with relatives calling to check on us”.
“I wish I had died in the accident, as it happened at a holy hour and in a holy place,” Egyptian pilgrim Mohammed Ibrahim said.
Indonesians and Indians were among those killed when the crane collapsed.
“Suddenly, I heard thunder and then we heard a very loud noise. That was the sound of the crane falling,” Mohammed, a Moroccan pilgrim, said.
Another visitor, Ahmed from Egypt, said he and those around him were “very scared, hysterical even”.
A Saudi official said the Hajj, expected to start on September 21, would go ahead despite the tragedy.
The pilgrimage is a must for all able-bodied Muslims who can afford it.
An engineer for the Saudi Binladin Group, the developer, said the crane had been installed in “an extremely professional way” and that there had been no technical problem.
Saudi Binladin Group belongs to the family of the late Al Qaeda leader Osama Bin Laden.
Philadelphia couple Ross Cohen and Blair Delson were taking a few pictures to immortalise the biggest day of their life when 3000 naked cyclist photobombed them, reports Associated Press.

An alleged sex video of pro-Patel reservation crusader Hardik Patel has been doing the rounds on social media and was sent to all media organisations recently. While it is extremely unlikely that the video is of Hardik Patel, this is not the first time that leaders who have gone against the establishment or tried to disturb the apple cart have been defamed by sexual slur.
Sanjay Joshi:
Sanjay Joshi was the link between RSS and BJP in Gujarat. Increasingly, he was becoming a threat to the ruling leadership in Gujarat with his sound organizational skill. In 2005, a sex video was leaked that virtually rocked Sanjay Joshi’s political career. RSS did get him back in their fold in 2007, but he never regained his old clout. Sanjay Joshi currently remains a lonely figure, brutally shorn of his past prominence.
Sanjeev Bhatt:
IPS officer Sanjeev Bhatt has had a history of taking on the Gujarat government post the 2002 riots. He has been serving suspension from 2011. On August 14, 2015 , he was served a show-cause notice to explain his alleged relationship with an unknown woman. The show-cause was given on the basis of a sex video leaked online. Bhatt on his part categorically denied that he was in the video and asked for a detailed probe to clear his name. Bhatt has been now expelled from service.
Digvijay Singh:
Digvijay Singh has had a habit of getting under the skin of his opponents. He is one of the most outspoken Congress leaders who has never backtracked from speaking his mind. Some time ago, pictures of Digvijay Singh with a much younger lady flashed on social media. It caused much embarrassment to the veteran Congress leader. However, going by his outspoken nature, the pictures have not dented Digvijay’s stature too much.
Abhishek Manu Singhvi:
During the worst phase of UPA rule, Abhishek Manu Singhvi was one spokesperson who was articulating Congress’ views very ably. Point by point, he was puncturing holes in the opposition’s claim about how inept the UPA government was. Then suddenly out of the blue, an MMS purportedly of Singhvi caught in a compromising position surfaced. Congress had to temporarily withdraw him from appearing on TV. He is back now, but Congress is no longer in power too.
Are all these merely coincidental or is there a larger force behind it? We will probably never know, but it is intriguing nonetheless.
